Neurodatascience.org

Where neuroscience meets data science

Contribute and join the mission!

Team science is the best science! Whether you’ve spotted a typo, found a bug, or have a brilliant idea for something we missed or overlooked, we value your input. There are two primary ways to help us improve neurodatascience.org.

1. Submit an Issue (Beginner Friendly)

If you aren’t comfortable editing code directly but found something that needs fixing, Github Issues are the way to go. This is great for reporting bugs, suggesting new content, or pointing out broken links.

How to do it:

  1. Visit our Issue Tracker.
  2. Click the green “New Issue” button.
  3. Give it a descriptive title and explain the problem or suggestion in the body.
  4. Hit “Submit new issue.” We’ll take it from there!

2. Submit a Pull Request (Advanced)

If you’re comfortable with Git and want to make the changes yourself, we welcome Pull Requests (PRs). This is the fastest way to get your contributions live on the site.

How to do it:

  1. Fork the repository to your own GitHub account.
  2. Clone your fork locally and create a new branch for your changes.
  3. Commit your edits and push them back to your GitHub fork.
  4. Navigate to our original repository and click “Compare & pull request.”
  5. Describe what you changed and why, then submit!

Still Unsure?

If GitHub feels a bit like a maze or if you have a question that doesn’t quite fit the formats above, don’t sweat it. You can always send a quick email to our team.

Pro Tip: When emailing or opening an issue, including a screenshot or a link to the specific page you’re talking about helps us help you much faster!
